State-Certified Business Administrator for the Hotel and Catering Industry

This programme is aimed at professionals who have already completed their training in the hospitality industry and have gained some professional experience and are now looking to move up to a new level: as a manager in a hotel or related service industry, or perhaps in self-employment.

This programme will extend your professional competences by providing you with additional business know-how, key competences and foreign language skills.

Depending on your personal preference, you will also have the opportunity to carry out an 8-week placement in Germany or abroad between the 1st and 2nd year to help you prepare for your future responsibilities. After successfully completing your training, you will be qualified for management tasks and will have countless career-developing opportunities throughout the entire sector.

Requirements

  • Completed formal training in a relevant profession* with at least one year of
    practical professional experience
  • Alternatively, another professional qualification plus 5 years experience in the hospitality industry
  • Foreign language skills (English)
  • Communication and teamwork skills
  • Organisational skills, resilience
  • Mobility, flexibility

Training schedule

  • 2 years of full-time training
  • Practice-oriented teaching
  • 8-week placements between the 1st and 2nd year
  • Optional: additional teaching leading to a university entrance qualification and/or specialisation in health tourism or hotel services in health establishments

Training content

  • Business administration
  • Management, HR, marketing, communication
  • Hospitality and tourism law
  • F&B, hotel organisation, catering and event management (incl. organisation of an event project)
  • English and French
  • Project work: develop an idea for a company and draw up a business plan
  • Optional additional courses: e.g. business English, 3rd foreign language
    (Spanish, Italian, Russian, Dutch, Chinese, Arabic), training leading to
    examination as an instructor, state-certified wine expert
  • 8-week placement (optional)
